Roads on the Cape Verde islands are generally of a reasonable standard, though some are in a poor state – a road improvement programme is in place and surfaces are being improved slowly but surely. Bus services are adequate and provide cheap transport at semi-reliable times. Taxis are widely available. Passenger and cargo ferries – sometimes carrying passengers – operate frequently between the ports of the islands. Sea conditions can prove hazardous and travel can often be heavily delayed as a result. TACV Cabo Verde Airlines offer regular internal flights to all islands apart from Brava and San Antao, with discount fares available for frequent fliers.
